Pawan Kalyan appointed Yuva Rajyam prez - By expressbuzz.com
HYDERABAD: In a bid to woo the youth and consolidate their strength in the party, Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president Chiranjeevi today appointed his younger brother and Power Star Pawan Kalyan as the president of Yuva Rajyam, the youth wing of the party.

After his induction into office, Pawan declared that he would not contest in the next elections and continue acting in films. At a function organised at the party office, Chiranjeevi entrusted the responsibility of building the youth wing to Pawan Kalyan amidst cheers and bursting of crackers by hundreds of fans and followers of the latter.

The party office witnessed a lot of buzz on the occasion of the anointment of Pawan Kalyan. The entire road which leads to the party office swarmed with fans. Even the party office premises were jam-packed with leaders and followers of Pawan.

In their eagerness to have a glimpse of their matinee idol, the fans broke the glass door of the party office and the grill fence before the office also gave in to their force.

Speaking to media later, Chiranjeevi said Pawan Kalyan earned the position on his own and not as his brother. He had social consciousness, his own image and was a good Samaritan, the Mega Star exclaimed.

‘’Right from his childhood, he was different.

When he was studying in the eighth or the ninth standard, he celebrated his birthday with his friends.

After coming out from the cafe, he found some poor people.

He thought that it would have been better to give the money to them instead of spending it on the celebration. From then onwards, he has never celebrated his birthday,’’ recalled Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi said Pawan used to spend his free time with SCs and BCs. He had many friends from those communities, the PRP founder said. Chiranjeevi brushed away the allegation that the PRP was becoming a family estate and stated that his affinity with brother-in-law Allu Aravind went beyond relationship. His brothers Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan were self-made persons, Chiranjeevi said. Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said his brother was a humanist to the core. He said he had been awaiting the arrival of such a leaderin politics.

“Two incidents changed my life. When I was in the tenth class, police took me to the station on the pretext that my cycle did not have the dynamo for the light and kept me there for more than seven hours. When I was in the second class, I read about a mine blast which caused a sense of insecurity in me,’’ Pawan Kalyan recollected.

He stated that Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Martin Luther King and Che Guvera had inspired him. He alleged that the Government was not encouraging such courses of study which would provide employment to the youth

Chiranjeevi says courts should punish, not individuals

Reacting to the recent incident of the encounter of three accused in the Warangal Engineering girls acid attack by the police, Praja Rajyam Party supremo Chiranjeevi said that individuals should not punish and that only courts should award punishment. While he said that the girls are suffering for no fault of theirs, police should not take law into their own hand. He said that people lost faith in the Government for not taking quick and stern action in the cases of Prathyusha, Ayesha and Srilakshmi.

Chiranjeevi said that the state requires more police stations for women and that special fast track courts are to be set up to deal with women related crime.

Praja Rajyam Womens Wing leader Shobha Nagi Reddy blamed the Government for its inaction and said that the Government acted only after the media gave focus on the incident. She said that many such incidents are not even coming up in the media and getting unnoticed.

Praja Rajyam to change its District Committee selection criteria

Praja Rajyam Party is retrospecting itself and this comes out in the wake of the party deciding to change its district committee selection process. The party has earlier decided to start constructing the district leadership from the mandal grassroot level and go upwards. Programmes such as the Varadhi and Spark are undertaken but the process was stopped midway. The top district leadership is selected and with the grassroot level being ignored, the structure has proved to be in such a way that Incharge and monitoring committees will have no contact with the grassroot level party workers.

With few awkward scenes observed at the party headquarters in Hyderabad recently, Chiranjeevi has decided it is important to change the district committee selection process to avoid any untoward incidents. Sources say he has recently discussed about these issues apart from the discontent amongst the party workers with the District In-charges.

Chiranjeevi is planning to complete the District committee selection process of the remaining districts before the Praja Anikta Sabhas.

Praja Rajyam decides to approach court to vacate the stay on roadshows

Praja Rajyam Party spokesperson and party in charge for Visakhapatnam district Sobha Nagi Reddy and senior leader Ganta Srinivasa Rao speaking to media said that the party had decided to approach the court to vacate the stay orders on political roadshows in the State. They said that in a democracy, it is the right of the political party to go to the people in different forms to explain them their respective stand on various issues.

Sobha Nagi Reddy said that they were confident of expecting a favorable order else it will take to the people's court in some other form, while stating that they had highest respect for judiciary. On the allegation of fans of Praja Rajyam Party president, Chiranjeevi were not getting due importance in the party, she said that nothing would be done without consulting the fans.

After a review meeting held on Wednesday, she said that the party has decided to appoint a monitoring committee on implementation of party programmes. She further said that within four to five days, district committees would be announced.

Chiranjeevi's three phases of Praja Ankita Yatra that touched the Coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema was able to draw huge crowds. However, the few untoward incidents such as one killed in Srikakulam and two deaths in Dharamavaram has forced court to order a stay for all political parties on the road shows.

Former IAS Officer Danam joins PRP

Wednesday looked like to be yet another busy day at the party headquarters of the Praja Rajyam Party with the joining of few top notch leaders in the youngest regional political party of Andhra Pradesh. Former IAS Officer Danam joined PRP in the presence of the party president Chiranjeevi. Danam said that he is influenced by the party principles of brining about social justice to the people.

Other new joiners in the party include the Vice President of the State Surpanchs Association Bhumanna Yadav, Kanthi Seenu of Vijayawada TDP, Chadalawada Hariprasad and Panaparthi Ravi, both businessmen from Guntur.

Praja Rajyam is witnessing the entry of members at all levels - from the lower tier yet very important party supporters and the activits, the middle tier district level leaders and the top tier state-level and national level leaders. It may be recalled Former Union Ministers Upendra and P Shiva Shankar have joined the party recently. With a strong leadership structure almost in place, the party is putting efforts to strengthen its district level and constituency level ladder. The party General Secretary Allu Aravind speaking in East Godavari has hinted that the party is working on filling the district committees. Chiranjeevi himself has confirmed that they are working at the district and constituency levels now. Once this process begins, the middle trier of the party can get strengthened.

District and constituency committees to be setup in weeks time

The Praja Rajyam Party has decided to to form district and constituency committees in a week days time. According to party sources, the Party President, Chiranjeevi had given directions to the managers to this effect while participating in an interactive session with the district in charges, coordinators and monitoring committee members on Tuesday. It also decided to form legal, youth, women and farmer wings but did not fix any time frame for bring them in place. Chiranjeevi, speaking with the press said that the party has taken time to make the district level structure in force as it is waiting for more stronger leaders and personalities from various regions to join in the party and so as to not miss them.

The District Committee will have 25 members, a convener, two co-conveners and spokespersons. The constituency level committees also will have a similar structure. However, mandal level committees will be taken up later. The district and constituency committees will have representation from all communities.

The district in charges who are entrusted with the job of forming committees, will be empowered to enlarge the committees depending on the local conditions. Chiranjeevi's fans will be accommodated in the youth wing and those who participated in the Varadhi, Spark and Spandana will be accommodated in various committees as per their abilities. The committees will function on an ad hoc basis till the elections.

The announcement of district level structure for the party has come into focus after media began to blame the party for not having one in place. In fact, the party General Secretary Allu Arjun made the announcement of strengthening of its organizational structure at a recent meeting. Chiranjeevi himself has spoken with the members of the legal community at Hyderabad recently giving signs of work towards strengthening of the party.

Praja Rajyam

By the people, for the people, from the people's person.

Finally, the enigma called Chiranjeevi announced to the crowd of millions of fans and followers his much awaited political outfit PRAJA RAJYAM - People's Rule or People's Reign. Chiranjeevi unfolded the Praja Rajyam flag - green and white with the sun in the middle - in front of emotionally overwhelming followers.

Sheer determination and hard work put Chiranjeevi, the son of a police constable with humble beginnings, on a pedestal of popularity even the rich and the powerful would envy. In his journey to become one of the most successful actors of the Telugu film industry, Chiru garnered a fan following that spans young kids to old people. He became the role model to the youth. The name spelt success and his movies are sought after. After a glorious 30 year run of super hit blockbusters Chiranjeevi has become a household name. Now, he decided to live amongst the people with his party 'Praja Rajyam'.

"People want me to join politics" Chiranjeevi said, making a dramatic entry on the stage with outstretched arms - representing his openness and inviting others to join him. "Prajarajyam will be a secular and democratic party and the primary goal is to bring happiness in everybody's life in Andhra Pradesh (Santoshandhra Pradesh)."

Chiranjeevi charged the crowds with his childhood memories wherein he had faced difficulties like every other common man present there. A giant screen behind him and 18 other screens throughout the venue displaying the speech made the event more impressive and eye catching.

"After 30 years of success I can live a comfortable life, but I have decided to be amongst you. I am here to restore respect to politics". The actor played his role to perfection, a natural speaker and his speech was devoid of theatrics and delivered with an air of spontaneity and openness with an everlasting smile that is normally associated with Praja Rajyam's founder, Chiranjeevi.

"Fighting corruption, particularly the political corruption, will be our main agenda", Chiranjeevi said.

On the raging issues concerning the state Chiranjeevi refrained from entering a debate and spoke lightly about them. Praja Rajyam was not averse to a separate Telangana but the primary concern would be the development of the region.

Regarding the issue of SEZ's he expressed his discontent over the policies being drafted and the lands being allotted to the SEZ's. He said, "Though we are not against economic growth, we will not distribute fertile lands. Farmable lands for economic growth will undermine the farmer and we will put an end to it these practices."

"Only a few members of the society are reaping profits from the policies implemented whereas the major parts of the society - i.e., the middle class and the backward classes - are being denied the benefits which they so rightly deserve."

Chiranjeevi the 53 year old Padma Bhushan Awardee unveiling Praja Rajyam Party's vision said, "Today we are sounding the trumpet for the battle against social evils. There are no leaders in this battle - only servants. I am your servant. We will win this battle. No one can stop us."

On sensitive issues like the Maoist and reservations for scheduled castes he stated "I, alone cannot make the decision", Collective decisions shall be taken regarding the sensitive issues after a scientific evaluation and consultations with intellectuals & civil servants.

Praja Rajyam will work towards the realization of "Gram Swaraaj" a concept similar to PURA (providing urban amenities in rural areas) proposed by the former president Dr. Abdul Kalam ,who has been the inspiration for the mega star's entry into the political arena.

"I feel blessed to be standing at the feet of the lord of the seven hills amidst the love of you millions of people. Your blessings have given me a lot. Now is my time, bless me to give you back"

Let us welcome Praja Rajyam whole heartedly for a new beginning...
